Back then the worlds technology wasn’t that good, but people made use of what they had. For transportation they used carriage to move place to place quicker than walking. Carriages have a person sitting outside on a seat right in front of booth, and he controls a horse that pulls the carriage from the front. Passengers would sit in the booth that was in the back of the carriage. George Washington used to sit in this and get transported to different places he needed to be.

The reason George Washington didn’t want to lead his country for to long was because he just fought a huge war. Now he was very famous in the thirteen colonies, and everyone wants him to lead the the country. So he accepted this job as the executive of his country, but after eight years, which is two terms, he resigned. Before he resigned he made a farewell address, and in this he states many things that the country should not do. After all his work he just wanted to go home, relax, farm, and hang out with his family. Now I can see why he liked it so much, because it’s beautiful there. There is a room, open fields, a forest, and his giant mansion.

Before entering this museum I knew that the holocausts were bad places, I also knew that thousands of Jews died because of the Nazi’s. The leader of the Nazi’s was Adolf Hitler and he wanted to exterminate all Jews in Germany, but he went further than Germany. He almost took over all of Europe, but then many countries came together to stop the Naz’s in their tracks. This exhibit has changed my experience by showing me showing that this event was worse than I could ever imagine. Thoughts that came to my mind where that how is it possible for a human to feel the right that it’s okay to cause genocide. Also it very horrifying to know that this event actually took place in the course of human events.

This statue is made of plaster, and it was made by the Romans; this statue was a rough draft of the actual statue made of bronze. This statue is symbolic for freedom, growth, and its cap stands for liberty. 

This statue represents George Washington, and it was made from bronze. George Washington was one of the founding fathers and the first president of America; he was they one of the only people all Americans could trust.

My final picture is the capital building itself; it is to have two a room for the Senate and a room for the House of Representatives, it has a dome in the middle. This building is important because all of America’s laws are made in it.

Seeing the documents in the museum was really cool and exciting. It also made me feel like I was part of the occasion when they made these documents. I think that the quote “My hand trembles, but my heart does not” can mean many things. It can mean during war that I am stressed, but I still believe that we can win this war. It can also mean that during hard times in America everyone believes that it is the end of the country, but there is still hope that we can prevail. One challenge that the founding fathers may have had when fighting for freedom was that Britain was one of the most powerful armies in the world, so by signing the declaration they would be committing treason towards Britain; they would now to face this powerful army.

Before I came into this exhibit I knew that 9/11 was a truly tragic day in American history. Two planes crashed into the twin towers that caused all the people in them to die. Now I know that one of the antennas was preserved in the Newseum. Also I learned that there where people alive in the trade center there. Seeing this exhibit really showed me how bad this event really was, and how this moment in history will be remembered for a very long time.

The first adjective that has to do with this photo is  horrifying because this was a truly scary moment, three teenagers were shot and killed. The second adjective that has to do with this picture is depressing because it was a very sad day, especially for the teenagers parents. My final adjective is mind blowing because the fact that the police shot three teenagers because their opinion wasn’t allowed. I want to learn how some of these people felt about this time period. This is a truly sad period that should be remembered.

The main headline for California, Nevada, and Arizona are the biggest words on the article to attract attention. Also all the the newspapers have a political artical that mostly have to do with Trump. Most of the main articles have to do their state and not the country itself. These newspapers have completely different scenarios. That is what make all these newspapers so unique.

The Marine Corpse Men monument was made because of six marine soldiets  planted the American on a mountain on the island of Isu Chima. During their time there they tried to put a huge flag on top of the mountain to claim the island. 

The Lincoln memorial was made for Lincoln after he died. It was in honor of his triumphs and peaceful behavior; it was also because he was the president of the United States and he ended slavery. In addition one of Lincoln’s hands is clenched meaning that he is stressed about the civil war that was occurring,  and his other hand was relaxed meaning  the civil war is over and slavery was abolished. One controversy in this situation is that the people of Chicago didn’t want Lincoln Barrie’s I’m in a swamp, but he ended up being buried in it anyways. The third memorial was the Korean War monument, this was made because of the 54,000 people that went to fight a war in Korea. The reason for this was because North Korea was invading South Korea and trying to spread communism. One controversy in this was that the creaters wanted to create 38 statues because the battle was on the 38th parallel, but the people said that that was to many so they reduced the amount of statues to 19; with the statues comes their shadows so if you as the amount of shadows to the amount of statues you get 38. The last monument we visited was the Martin Luther King memorial, this was created after his death. This was because he was such an influential person that helped eliminate slavery.

 

The quote “Freedom is not free” means that many people have to die for their freedom. To get freedom you have to work for it, you can’t get it for free. “Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty.”

My experience walking through Arlington was good, but it was sad to see all of those graves there. One of the questions I heard was  “Why are there so many graves”. Americans do properly acknowledge the people that fought for freedom and passed away because they all come together to grieve their death.
